Every year for Rodney’s birthday he wants the same dang thing: me to make him a fried chicken dinner and a devil’s food cake. I guess I’m a traditionalist, too. I have to put the number of candles on a birthday cake corresponding to how old the person is.

His tradition he loves. Mine, well it’s causing more difficulty for him each year.

(With Andrea’s help, he did get them blown out. Hee!)

I love the cake… esp. the kisses around the edge. I’ve never seen that before. My daughter loves chocolate cake & her 13th birthday is coming up. I’ll need to remember that. :) xoxo, Joanna
happy birthday! looks like you had fun!
Hi, Kristiane! So nice to meet you–thanks for visiting me! :o) You have a fun blog… Hope your Rodney had a great day. LOVE the cake…mmm…and such pretty candles. Oh, your daughter is love, her senior photo is beautiful…Had a good giggle over those “transformation” photos though–LOL! Happy Day :o)
42! Poor Rodney. (ha)
That cake looks delicious! And those candles are so cute! I always take the easy way out and just buy the numbers. Now that all my kids are teenagers I’ve recycled the ‘1′ so many times that this year there wasn’t really much left to burn and I had to buy a new one.
